General Managers direct and coordinate various business operations of the company or of a particular department. Many large scale organizations have several departments. Each department is headed by general manager. They report to CEO or COO. In same medium sized organizations they report to vice president or president directly. General Managers are expected to fully understand the executive’s plan of action for the company. General managers communicate the administrative goals to the immediate sub ordinates. Later it is responsibility of the supervisors to see that these goals are met.
