The commis chef is a junior chef. The chef is guided and supervised by either the head or the sous chef. Commis chefs assist senior chefs in food preparation and cooking. They work with other members of the kitchen staff to ensure that customers are served food in a timely manner. Commis chefs work hard so as to develop their culinary skills.
