Television announcers are employed by television networks either to record taped announcements to be used in shows and programs or to read announcements to the live audience.  Television announcers, like radio announcers, must possess a voice with excellent quality and timbre.  Aside from this, television announcers most often also need to look good on camera since some are also shown during airing of television shows such as game shows or talk shows.  Television announcers need to be highly skilled in the use of the English language and be careful in correctly reading their lines to use proper grammar and pronunciation.  This career does not require a specific bachelor’s degree but a degree in communications is a plus.
